Visitation: will be held on Friday December 11th from 7:00-9:00pm at the Senator Bob Martin Agricultural Center in Williamston, NC.

Funeral: will be held on Saturday December 12th at 2:00pm at the Senator Bob Martin Agricultural Center in Williamston, NC.

Burial: will be at the Tice Family Cemetary in Farm Life; a horse drawn caisson will carry Deputy Brown's body.

Address: Senator Bob Martin Agricultural Center is at 2900 Hwy 125S (otherwise known as Prison Camp Road). It is located at the intersection of Hwy 125S and US 64.

On September 30, 2005, Deputy Brian Matthews of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department lost his life in the line of duty. Everyone knew of Brian’s big heart. What better way could he continue to help others than to have this tournament to raise funds to help others. Proceeds will go to (C.O.P.S.) Concerns of Police Survivors, which provides assistance to surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

The Morehead City Blue Knights, BK NC XVIII, are sponsoring the 3rd Annual Carteret County Memorial Ride on Saturday, Septemeber 19th.

Pre-registration donation of $15.00 per rider
Day of the event donation of $20.00 per rider
Passenger donation of $10.00

Proceeds from this event will be used for the Blue Knight XVIII scholarship fund for the Criminal Justice Program in memory of Joe Cagley at Carteret Community College.

The route will start and finish at Carteret Community College. We will head east on Hwy 70, cross the Morehead City/Atlantic Beach Hi-Rise (Hopefully one day the OFFICER DOWN MEMORIAL BRIDGE), go down NC 58, back up Hwy 24 and 70.

There will be a memorial service at 1:00pm today, May 12, 2009, to honor all fallen law enforcement officers in Wake County. The ceremony will recognize 19 officers from the NC Highway Patrol, Wake County Sheriff's Department, as well as Raleigh, Wake Forest and Morrisville Police Departments.

The ceremony is open to the public and is the first such ceremony in Wake County.
